It seems like 2019 is not a good year for Wendy Williams. It was previously announced that Wendy Williams is receiving intensive care at the hospital for an upper-arm injury she sustained in late December, resulting to her extending her break from her TV show. And now, a new report suggest that she has been physically abused by her husband.
According to National Enquirer (via Bossip), Wendy has suffered abuse at the hands of her husband/manager Kevin Hunter. The magazine claims that the 54-year-old talk show host has “suffered horrendous physical abuse at the hands of her husband from hell, according to a former employee’s lawsuit!”
In addition, the tabloid allegedly have conducted a month-long investigation into Wendy’s hiatus. It reports multiple claims suggest that 46-year-old Kevin attacked the TV personality. It is said that Kevin was “choking her, kicking her and puching her in the face!”
Wendy reportedly has helped her husband cover up the physical abuse. However, after Wendy was seen slurring her words while sporting a sling, Hunter’s mother admitted to the tabloid that she witnessed her son abusing Wendy. Pearlet Hunter allegedly confessed, “I saw Kevin choking out Wendy! Another time, I witnessed him kicking the s**t out of her and pushing her down the stairs.”
Last week, Wendy’s family issued a statement saying that she would extend her hiatus from “The Wendy Williams Show” as she returned to the hospital due to complications from Graves’ Disease.
“As Wendy Williams Hunter previously shared, she fractured her shoulder and has been on the mend. Over the past few days, Wendy has experienced complications regarding her Graves’ disease that will require treatment,” the statement reads. “Wendy will be under the strict supervision of her physicians, and as part of her care, there will be significant time spent in the hospital.”
“Despite her strong desire to return, she is taking a necessary, extended break from her show to focus on her personal and physical well-being,” the statement further details. “Wendy thanks everyone in advance for their well-wishes and for respecting her and the Hunter family’s privacy during this time.”
That marked the second time Wendy extended her break from the show. Wendy initially was slated to return to “The Wendy Williams Show” on January 14, though distributor and producer Debmar-Mercury later announced she was forced to further delay her return for another week.
